Direction of arrow Emergency lighting
Which arrow direction is valid for Pictogram escape sign luminaires?

The illustration and description of escape and rescue routes are shown in DIN EN ISO 7010:2020-07.
In addition, there is the European Directive 92/58/EEC of January 2022 and 1992, which describes the direction of arrows.
Both standards describe the arrow direction as “downwards”.
Other arrow directions were discussed in DIN SPEC 4844-4 or DIN TR 4844-4 but are not recognized rules of technology.
DIN ISO 16069 is also not valid for emergency lighting, as this is explicitly excluded in the standard. “This document does not contain special considerations for possible tactile or acoustic components of SWGS, nor does it contain requirements for high-mounted components of emergency lighting of escape routes, in particular the design and application of emergency lighting of escape routes.”
In summary, the down arrow is still exclusively valid.
